GRADE SCHOOL DEPARTMENT

Colegio San Agustin-Biñan Grade School Department started in 1985 with 356 pupils from Grades I – III. Due to insistent demands of parents, the administrators opened grades IV to VI on the school’s second year of operation. Its first graduation was held in 1987 with 50 graduates. From then on, there was marked increase in its yearly enrollment.
On March 2, 1987, government recognition was granted to Grade School by the Department of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS). On April 26, 2002, the department was granted its certificate of accreditation by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU). The Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) attested its certification of accreditation to level II for having satisfactorily met the standards and fulfilled all the requirements of the association. The department is committed to maintain its standards and to further strengthen its curricular and co-curricular offerings. The PAASCU re-survey visit was held last October 2005.
Its classrooms were formerly located in the first building which is now the newly constructed Sto. Niño Hall before it was moved to the second building, the Rada Hall. With the increase of enrollment, the first floor of the Urdaneta Hall, which is the High School building, is now occupied by some of the Grade School classes. All Grade School classrooms are fully air-conditioned.
In October 20, 2005, Immanuel Encarnacion, then a Grade VI pupil obtained a perfect score in the prestigious Australian Mathematics Competition organized by the Australian Mathematics Trust and supervised by the Dept. of Science and Technology. In 2006, the department was the champion in the Metrobank-MTAP-Dep. Ed. Math Challenge, regional level both in individual and team category. During the national level of the said competition which was held in the Metrobank Plaza–Makati City, the CSA Grade School won second place in the individual category and third place in the team category. Since 1997, the department has been consistent in sending contestants in the different international math competitions bringing home medals and certificates.
In the division and regional schools press conference, the Grade School pupils have continuously bagged awards and medals in the different categories. Likewise, the official school paper of the department, the Junior Augustinian Herald received trophies and certificates of recognition.
The department also continously bring pride to the Augustinian community by winning in both national and international sports and co-curricular competitions.
At present, the CSA-Grade School Department enjoys the prestige of being a premiere institution in the locality. It vows to continue providing the youth a truly Filipino-Augustinian education.
